FAQs

What is WP Prospect, and how does it work?

WP Prospect is a tool designed for developers, marketers, and agencies to quickly identify if a website is powered by WordPress and to detect the WordPress version in use. Simply enter a domain, and WP Prospect will scan the site’s source code using multiple lookup points to provide accurate results.

Who can benefit from using WP Prospect?

WP Prospect is ideal for WordPress agencies, developers, marketers, and anyone involved in lead generation or client prospecting who wants to streamline their workflow by identifying WordPress sites efficiently.

What are the available plans, and what’s included in each?

WP Prospect offers three plans: Guest Access (free, with limited daily checks), Registered User (free, with an increased monthly check limit), and Premium User ($59/year, with bulk check and CSV export options). Each plan has different features, such as search history, export options, and bulk checking capabilities.

Is WP Prospect available as a free tool?

Yes, WP Prospect offers free Guest Access and a free Registered User plan, both with limited features. Premium User plans are paid and offer additional functionalities like bulk checking and export options.

Do I need an account to use WP Prospect?

You can use WP Prospect as a Guest User for limited checks without signing up. To access more checks or premium features, you’ll need to create an account.

How does the bulk check feature work?

The bulk check feature allows Premium Users to analyze multiple domains simultaneously, saving time on manual checks. This feature is especially useful for users managing large client lists or leads.

How accurate is the detection?

WP Prospect has been built to attempt multiple points of detection to increase the success rate of identifying if a website is running WordPress. While our tool is highly accurate, some websites may hide that they are running WordPress, which can affect detection accuracy.

What are the daily and monthly check limits for each plan?

Guest Access allows 10 checks per day. Registered Users get 500 checks per month, while Premium Users can perform up to 1,000 checks per month.

Can I export my results, and in what format?

Yes, Premium Users can export their search results in CSV format, making it easy to integrate data with sales, lead management, or reporting platforms.

How does it know what to search?

WP Prospect has been custom-built to look for a domain name either in an email address or in a website URL. This means you can input an email address of a potential lead to quickly identify if the website is running WordPress. You can also perform a bulk lookup using email address or web addresses.

What information does WP Prospect provide in each result?

WP Prospect provides information on whether the website is running on WordPress and, if so, identifies the specific WordPress version used.

Does WP Prospect keep a history of my searches?

Yes, Registered and Premium Users can access their search history. Guest Users do not have this feature.

Can I filter my results before exporting?

Yes, Registered and Premium Users can filter their results by criteria such as date range before exporting, ensuring they can retrieve only the most relevant data.

How much does the Premium plan cost?

The Premium User plan costs $59 per year and includes additional features like bulk checking, export options, and access to search history.

Is there a monthly payment option for the Premium plan?

Currently, the Premium plan is available on an annual payment basis only.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time?

Yes, users can upgrade to the Premium plan at any time. For downgrading or upgrading, registered users can access the “Membership” page when logged in to adjust their subscription.

What happens if I reach my check limit?

Once you reach your daily or monthly check limit, you will need to wait until the next reset period (daily for Guest Users, monthly for Registered and Premium Users) to continue using the tool. Premium Users can consider upgrading if additional checks are frequently required.
